Temptation Resort is a great place for a singles or couples vacation including triples, great for 3 gals. Yes, you can reserve a room with double occupancy or a private room as a single (or even a triple). Temptation is NOT a nudist resort, but topless optional, with over 400 rooms. Every time we've been there, more single girls seem to show up than guys. (This is only an observation, not a guarantee). Couples, yes, but there's a great mix of singles.
Ages range from early 20's to 60's, with most guests averaging from mid 20's to mid 40's,makes for a fun vibe day and night.

Most beach resorts in Cancun attract international guests from countries worldwide and Temptation has its share. So, topless sunbathing is welcome and typical at Temptation....but not guaranteed.
Nudity is not yet accepted on the principle beaches as clothing-optional sunbathing opportunities are not yet the norm for Mexico but we hope they come soon. Some of the "monokini" appear to be fashioned from dental floss.

Getting There
U.S. Citizens: Passports are required for international air travel to all destinations outside the USA.
Temptation - Cancun We've been there so just ask us. The resort is located on the beach right in the north hotel zone of Cancun. The resort faces northward toward the Mexican Caribbean.
A little aside: the surf is almost non-existent on the north side of the hotel zone and therefore, no pounding waves which tend to spawn patches of seaweed.
Don't expect a pure perfect, endless stretch of white beach as parts of the sandy bottom is prone to seaweed colonies. This is not a big deal, just a bit of trivia... there's still plenty of sand to sink your toes into.
Cancun International Airport is served by airlines worldwide, offering convenient and frequent service. Temptation is about 30 minutes from the airport so you can take a taxi, a shuttle transfer or rent a car to see the area. The distance is only about 15 miles and much of the drive is through town.
A big plus if you don't have to spend much time transferring to the hotel from the airport.
Services
The resort is full service, all-inclusive, adults only. There are daily activities, nightly entertainment in an open-air theater setting, non-motorized water sports, windsurfing, snorkeling, optional scuba diving, adult games, and of course beaches and the on-site swimming pools. The main pool is party central during the day and stretches from one end to almost the other.
The smartest, most fun part of the pool is the four Jacuzzis located at the free form pool's edge, inside the main pool (not beside the pool) and right near the bar. A nice touch is that introductory scuba diving lessons are provided complimentary before you have to pony up the cash to actually take diving lessons.
Many beaches in Cancun are topless but not nude (yet). Other features include free bicycles, 7 specialty restaurants, bars seemingly everywhere you turn, a fitness center and numerous tours and sightseeing in the area.
A fun activity is to sign on (extra cost) for a jet ski ride through the surrounding Everglades and beautiful lagoons. Boutiques are on site and shops are next door.

Ambiance
Temptation Resort is active all the time. The resort is surprisingly compact in the main hotel buildings, with the "PLAY" tower in the middle of the complex.
Nightly, the center attraction is the entertainment and party terrace outside adjacent to the lobby facing the Caribbean. The place really cranks up at night with bars inside and out, a snack buffet, a great mix of tunes courtesy of the on the scene DJ team and an elevated dance platform to see and be seen if you're game.
Numerous lounges, boutiques, bistros, restaurants, clubs, and shops are close by up and down Kukulcan Blvd east of the hotel. If you can't find enough party action on site, Clubs include: Coco Bongo, St. Frogs, Basic, Dady'O, The City, Bulldog, Dady Rock (NOTE: This list will change without notice as new clubs open and old ones close)
Most of the social activity is centered around the pool and beach bar area plus the lobby bar near the reception area during the day. Night time, most guests will be busy with dinner and drinks, and then attend the evening's entertainment.
The beach area is adequate for the guest load but the hotel zone properties are built right next to each other so the beaches run together. There are no wide open spaces on this section of the beach.
TIPS
Just take airport transfers to the resort, and if you wish, rent a car to see more of the area if you prefer. Otherwise, there's a bus shuttle that operates up and down the hotel corridor in Cancun's hotel row.
Study a guide book or internet site before you arrive in Cancun to plan your stay as there are numerous tourist activities to take advantage of. If you just want to sit back and relax, don't bother. There are literally a hundred different sites and activities to participate in so you might want to plan your time spent there.

Plan on taking the bus shuttle up and down the hotel zone if you like to explore, bar hop or shop 'til you drop.
The hotel zone is actually about 12-14 miles long (or more) from top to bottom.....you can walk or run it if you've trained for a marathon......the hotel zone is big. And, the hotel zone is separate from the town of Cancun. The zona, as it's called, runs for miles along a peninsula shaped like a number "7" from north to south.
Temptation beach at water's edge is shallow, drag a plastic lounge chair out in the saltwater with a friend, a book, a drink and enjoy your vacation.

Sightseeing

Age Ranges
Ages range from early 20's to 60's (and some older) with most in the middle, but expect a younger crowd for bar hopping. A good choice for singles as there is lots of activity, lots of people and lots of diversions on site and close by. Gals, the resort takes triples in a room so you can save $$$ that way.
Best Time To Go
Mexico is a year-round, world class destination and Cancun has great weather with the Caribbean beach water just about perfect anytime. Summer time is warmer, of course, with storm season from late August to early October adding humidity to the weather.

Room: We liked our room- a lot. But now we do understand why there is such a fuss from people about them because different rooms will have a different feel. Wife needs her sleep and a happy wife = happy life. Advice: Make sure you ask for a room to suit your style.
Swingers/exhibitionists: Get a jacuzzi room lower floor. Want a quieter retreat, 2nd/3rd floor by the quiet pool. That is what we had and we liked it. We did meet some people who had a similar room whose AC supposedly did not work, but we were cold in ours. Look, if you want a 5-star resort with marble countertops this is not it. They kept the public areas very clean, which is very nice.
Beach: We had heard the beach was downright terrible. Truth is, again, its not a 5-star beach with pristine blue waters. But my wife who loves the beach was more than happy hanging out by the beach, riding the sailboats, wading in the ocean, finding shade (which is not availed really at the pool) and being a minute walk from the sexy pool activities.
If you are going to Cancun for the beach, this is probably not the resort for you. If you are there and want the beach as part of your experience, you will be just fine.
Food: It's really hard to give an opinion (or read someone else's) on food and get any good info. We all have different tastes, etc. It was the same quality you would find on say a cruise. Good, not great most of the time.
The highlight for us was the buffet would occasionally have raw fish they would cook for you- the tuna seared was downright tasty. Much of the food is on the blander side, but that comes from people who love our spices. So to some that may be a good thing.
Service: Absolutely incredible. From the housekeeper, bar staff, activity staff, security, etc....awesome!
General Vibe: Unless you book the hotel by mistake, you will find your niche. There is absolutely a swinger presence so if that is your thing you will be at home. My wife and I are not-we are the type who like to be sexual around, but not with people. But we found our niche too, and never once felt pressured by anyone to do anything.
The motto "nobody knows you and nobody gives a shit" really does ring true. As long as you are comfortable in your skin and at whatever pace you want you will have an absolute blast.
Tips for Newbies:
1) Bring tip money. We had heard you get better drinks if you tip, not sure we noticed that, but we tipped anyway. We did tip the housekeeper $5 a day and asked for extra bottled water and she stocked our fridge! Nice to hydrate after a day at the pool/beach.
2) Don't be afraid. Before we went we read a lot of the posts on things from heavy girls, to swingers, to what to wear, what if I am too fat, etc.
Bottom line is this: If you think you're too old, you won't be the oldest. If you think you're too overweight, there will be other larger. If you think you are the hottest couple- there will be a couple hotter. Literally, everyone fits in. The first day we got there, a 70'ish something woman was walking around in a thong and I said "God bless her!" and my wife said "I hope to be her someday"
3) I would guess a majority of people there have never heard of cancuncare.com. Two of the three couples we spent most of the week with had been there multiple times and never heard of it. I am saying this because whether you meet someone here ahead of time you mesh with or not, you will find someone there you mesh with if you have any personality at all.
4) Theme nights: The week we were there it was 95% the resort theme. I don't know if that is true every week, but it was our experience the week we were there, but ladies if you just find some of the sexy dresses in the colors that match the hotel theme night you will blend in. And if you are wondering "Can I wear that" the answer is yes.
The first night we hopped off the plane in jeans and t-shirts and went out and nobody blinked. The last night my wife was wearing a see-through shirt and a white thong and nobody blinked. We saw a guy with a mesh thong, girls with nipples protruding, etc. Go and be as sexy as you are comfortable with and trust me- whatever level that is, you won't stand out.
My wife is also pretty conservative and after the first night, she stated she needed more revealing clothes. But the thing is whether you go topless, wear a thong, or wear jeans and a T-shirt, nobody gives a freaking shit.
Be who you are and you can't help but have fun at that level.

We had a great time at Temptations Resort. As a couple of just turned 30-somethings, we were looking for something with a chance of some more guests in our age group and maybe a place with more of an "edge". Temptations proved to fit the bill as there were lots in our age group, (but still lots in the empty-nester category as well). And it damn sure had an "edge"
Overall we'd rate the resort, rooms, services, and food as "good". Not 5-star by any means, but good. Nothing poor or bad either though. But for us, the entertainment and other activities were great. Not so much the talent of bands and such, but more for the fun vibe of the evenings. A real party atmosphere which is exactly what we were hoping for. Can you say Foam Party... :-).
And as for the beaches and such. Hmmm... well, let me just say I never thought this 3 kid baby mama with a C-section scar would ever find herself "hanging out" around a crowded pool or on a public beach butt naked except for an extremely immodest swatch of butt-floss, and at times, not even that.
But once I looked around and saw so many other "normal people" with body types (attractive to not so much) going topless and baring almost all, I figured if they could do it so could I.
Only confusing thing, for a resort that's supposedly topless only, they sure seemed to go out of their way to get us naked a lot. Once was during a "scavenger" type game where the contestants were required to retrieve the bathing suits off as many people as they could. Of course, in our little gang, some complied and none of us had any problem sauntering up "after the count" to retrieve their swimsuits, skimpy as they were.
I thought the nude thing would be way too intimidating for me, but it turned out I instead found the experience exhilarating and liberating. The one who seemed more on edge was my husband as I kept "busting" him about his trying not to appear as interested as he was in checking out all those other bare naked boobies and "kitties".
Poor guy, we laughed about him being like a "kid in a candy store without a nickel".
Perhaps the best part was the ability to make friends with the other guests, that is if one wants to. You can easily just find your own space as a couple and be alone if that's your thing as well. But we fell in with a gang some of 4 other couples around our age.
Turns out they knew each other and met at Temptations once a year. It was nice having experienced folks to hang with, tell us what to do, or go with us for shopping or other activities outside the resort. Dang, they were loads of fun and laughs too. And it wasn't just them, we made too many new friends count.
Important to point out though, as it was with the gang we were mostly hanging with, at times things can get a little "frisky" so to speak, especially out on the beach late at night.
And without getting into detail.... let's just say among some there was a "sharing" kind of attitude. In fact, it was the second day until we discovered THAT gal was not married to THAT guy... hmmm... Not our thing, but we felt no pressure to participate beyond our comfort level. So after the butt naked body shots... we were "mostly" observers from there... 🙂
Oh, and would we go back? In a heartbeat... if it's all about luxury and the finer things, maybe this isn't the place for you... but for a chance to enjoy a crowd that includes folks from all adult-only age ranges, enjoy some great partying and maybe push some boundaries a bit (but only as far as you're comfortable with)... Temptation is a great choice in our opinion.
