Your French Riviera adventure starts with a dose of Catalonian pride (with never-ending talk of seceding from Spain) – Yes, you guessed it: Barcelona, just about our favorite tourism city in Europe. Make sure you spend 3 or 4 nights before or after your cruise to soak up the best in Barcelona. Pick a hotel with a rooftop bar or restaurant for spectacular views of the city, especially during happy hour at sunset. Then on to Marseille and Toulon, France for touring, wine tasting and visiting quaint countryside spots and wineries to rev up the oenophile in you to get ready for Italy, just about the best combination of friendliness, cuisine, dining and “wining” this cruise has to offer including Portofino and Livorno prior to docking in Civitavecchia, the port and gateway to Rome, less than an hour away by transfer.
In addition to alluring ports of call on land, the evening will be filled with parties and adult mischief at the pool, theme nights and workshops. More clothing-optional spots on board will have you relaxing at the pool and sun decks and a private hotspot for couples only.
