Oasis of the Seas Site Inspection – 2021
Before the Bliss OASIS cruise, the Bliss charter team sailed a week on the vessel as a site inspection including over 15 planning sessions with department heads and officer’s staff.
The first impression: OASIS deserves its place as one of the largest cruise ships not only in the Royal Caribbean fleet but also one the largest in the world across all cruise lines.
Layout of the ship is built around unique neighborhoods and clusters of similar functions such as restaurant row located in Central Park and Boardwalk with the amazing outdoor Aqua Theater in the stern, site of spectacular entertainment, rock show bands and heart-in-your-throat high diving performances.
Here’s a list of key locations on OASIS.
- Central Park
- The Pool and Sports Zone
- Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Center
- Boardwalk
- Royal Promenade featuring the Rising Tide Bar that slowly moves between the Royal Promenade and Central Park
- New Adult Zone
- Entertainment Place
Another unique feature includes ocean view balcony cabins back-to-back with more cabin balconies across the hall that overlook the neighborhoods. Some of the most spectacular suites are located in high floors that face the Aqua Theater aft for a bird’s eye view of performances below and music from top bands.
You won’t go hungry on the OASIS. Dining choices include both venues included in the price of your cabin such as the Main dining room and the always popular Windjammer buffet. Several snack spots dot the outside decks for Mexican nibbles, the usual burger and fries café coupled with excellent Italian, steak and specialty dining locales such as Portside BBQ.
Entertainment seems to be non-stop with comedy club, night clubs, karaoke and Latin-flavored dance venue. Here’s a list of more diversions to choose from:
- Two FlowRider surf simulators
- Zipline across an 82-foot distance that is nine decks up
- Ice skating rink
- Two 43-foot rock climbing walls
- Mini golf course
- Full-sized basketball court
- 3D movie theater
- Theme nights
Once you get your bearings, it’s pretty easy to navigate the decks enhanced by the main promenade on level 5, a feature on many of the Royal Caribbean ship categories. Its center piece is the Rising Tide bar that cycles between the Promenade on deck 5 and Central Park on Deck 8.
Although the ship accommodates over 5,000 guests, the design of the decks, common areas, entertainment and dining venues are dotted throughout the ship which helps disperse passengers.
Visits to ports of call are amazingly rapid considering the number of guests on board. The signature port of call at Royal Caribbean’s private island is a highlight of most cruises departing from Florida and stopping at CoCoCay for the day…not to be missed! *See full map of the island below.
If you get a chance to enjoy OASIS class ships in the Royal Caribbean fleet, you will be introduced to the largest variety of entertainment, dining and activity choices at sea. OASIS class ships sail worldwide for Royal Caribbean so look forward to variety onboard coupled with world-class destinations…..you can be busy all day and all night if you choose to.
Wish us a bon voyage on the Oasis of the Seas by Royal Caribbean. Join us for our next clothing optional cruise, April 2022 while cabins are still available.
