General Info
What's the difference: Nude Resorts vs. Lifestyle Resort?
A nude resort focuses on body freedom and relaxation. Guests enjoy a clothing-optional or fully nude environment where comfort, acceptance, and body positivity are the main themes. These resorts are not about sexual activity, they’re about enjoying the sun, sea, and social atmosphere without clothes. Think open-minded, friendly, and judgment-free.
A lifestyle resort (swinger resort), on the other hand, caters to adult couples who share an interest in exploring sensuality together in a respectful, like-minded setting. While nudity may be common in pool or play areas, the focus is on connection, fantasy, and freedom to express intimacy privately or socially. These resorts range from mild and flirty to wild and uninhibited, depending on the crowd and event.
What’s a clothing-optional resort really like?
It’s like any other beach getaway, except you don’t have to wear clothes. Clothing-optional resorts let guests relax topless or nude if they choose, and first-timers often find their nerves disappear within minutes. You can ease in at your own pace or dive right in, everyone’s there to unwind, not to judge.
What are the people like?
You’ll meet friendly, down-to-earth folks from all walks of life — professionals, business owners, travelers, and free spirits alike. Once the clothes come off, so do the labels. Everyone’s equal and easygoing.
I don’t have a “perfect” body. Should I be nervous?
Not at all. You’ll see every shape, size, and age represented. Most guests quickly realize that confidence and comfort matter far more than appearance, and that people on the nude side are often more relaxed than those tugging at swimsuits on the clothed side.
What ages go to clothing-optional resorts?
It depends on the destination. In the Caribbean, guests are usually adults 21 and over, most often between their 30s and 60s, though younger couples are increasingly joining in.
Do I have to be nude all the time?
No. Most Caribbean resorts require clothing in restaurants and public indoor areas, but nudity is welcome at designated beaches, pools, and hot tubs.
Any tips for awkward moments?
If you’re a guy and nature surprises you, grab a towel or roll over until things calm down. For women, lighter flow days are usually no issue — most simply wear a bottom or adjust as needed.
What is the etiquette at a clothing-optional resort?
- Always sit on a towel (for hygiene).
- No staring or comments about anyone’s body.
- Ask before taking photos.
- Follow resort rules about where clothing is required.
What about sex at the resort?
Many resorts have private playrooms or designated areas for adult fun, while public spaces like pools, beaches, and restaurants remain social and clothing-optional but not explicitly sexual.
Resort Takeovers & Group Trips
What is the difference: Resort Takeover vs. Group Trip
A Resort Takeover happens when our group is so large that we reserve the entire property. Everyone staying at the resort is part of the same event, creating a completely private atmosphere with themed parties, entertainment, and full resort control, the ultimate “no outsiders” experience.
A Group Trip, on the other hand, is when a smaller group of Castaways guests joins others at a resort that’s still open to the public. You’ll enjoy the same friendly vibe, private events, and hosted activities, but share the property with other guests who may not be part of our group.
Both options deliver the signature Castaways experience — fun, freedom, and connection — just at different scales.
