Bocas del Toro, Panama

Tucked between jungle and sea, Panama’s Au Naturel Resort is a secluded, adults-only, clothing-optional retreat located on the southeast tip of Bastimentos Island. Dining

Your stay at Popa Paradise includes three freshly prepared meals each day, served in the resort’s open-air dining room overlooking the sea.

Meals are typically plated and individually served, though at times of higher occupancy, the team may offer a buffet for salads, starters, or desserts. Expect a relaxed, island-style dining experience focused on fresh, local ingredients and friendly service.

Breakfast features a mix of tropical favorites and comforting classics. Enjoy fresh fruit like mango, papaya, pineapple, and watermelon, along with eggs cooked to order, pancakes or waffles, local coco bread, and savory options such as ham, bacon, or sausage.

Lunch and dinner menus change daily based on what’s fresh and available. You’ll usually have a few options to choose from—perhaps grilled mahi mahi, seared tuna, or tender beef one night, and lobster or local seafood the next—all paired with homemade sides and decadent desserts like house-made vanilla ice cream over key lime pie.

With advance notice, the kitchen can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free needs, although substitutions may be limited by island supply.

Dining at Popa Paradise is all about fresh flavors, ocean breezes, and laid-back luxury—a true taste of Panama’s Caribbean coast.

Your all-inclusive stay includes a wide selection of beverages:

  • Local Panamanian beers

  • House red and white wines

  • Classic mixed drinks and cocktails

  • Popular spirits including vodka, rum, gin, whiskey, scotch, champagne, and prosecco

Bartenders are friendly and creative, often mixing up island favorites with a twist using fresh fruit and local ingredients.

For guests who bring a special bottle to celebrate, the team is happy to chill and serve it for you privately or at your table. Please note that for licensing and guest comfort, outside alcohol may only be enjoyed in your room.

Whether you’re sipping a cold Balboa at the pool bar, toasting at sunset, or enjoying an after-dinner cocktail under the stars, the bar at Popa Paradise is all about easy conversation, island rhythm, and barefoot relaxation.

Spa

Find your calm at Popa Paradise’s open-air spa, surrounded by rainforest and ocean views. Enjoy soothing massages, facials, and body treatments that use natural oils and techniques to relax and renew. Skilled local therapists offer everything from deep tissue and aromatherapy to couples massages designed for pure tranquility.

For a mindful escape, join a yoga or stretching session on the open deck as the sun rises or sets over the sea. Appointments can be arranged at the front desk, and advance booking is recommended to guarantee availability. It’s the perfect way to unwind and reconnect with the natural rhythm of island life.

TRAVEL INFO

What entry documents do I need to enter Panama?

Most travelers need a valid passport with at least 3 months of validity, proof of onward travel, and proof of sufficient funds. U.S. and many EU citizens can visit visa free for up to 90 to 180 days.

The U.S. Dollar is the day-to-day currency. Panama also mints Balboa coins that match U.S. coin sizes and values. ATMs are available in Panama City and Bocas Town. At the resort, payments are accepted by Visa and MasterCard.

By Air:
Direct flights to Bocas del Toro (BOC) arrive daily from Panama City and San José, Costa Rica. From Panama City, flights depart Albrook Airport (PAC), a small domestic airport about 30 to 60 minutes from Tocumen International (PTY). We recommend allowing three hours between your international arrival at PTY and your domestic departure from PAC to ensure a smooth connection.

The flight from PAC to BOC takes roughly one hour. For a more relaxed experience, many travelers choose to spend the night in Panama City before flying to Bocas del Toro the next morning.

Arrival in Bocas del Toro:
Upon arrival, a Popa Paradise representative will meet you at the Bocas airport and escort you to our private dock for the 35-minute boat ride to Isla Popa. For stays of three nights or more, transfers are included. For shorter stays, the round trip transfer is $100 dollars per group.

Important:
For safety, boats do not depart after 5:30 PM from Bocas Town. Afternoon flights typically arrive in time for the transfer, but if a delay occurs, our team will help arrange alternate overnight accommodations in Bocas Town and coordinate your pick-up the next morning.

Alternate Option:

If you’re arriving from the mainland, ferries and water taxis run frequently from Almirante to Bocas Town during daylight hours. For stays of three nights or more, transfers are included. For shorter stays, the round trip transfer is $100 dollars per group.

Tropical and warm year round. Typical daytime highs sit around 85 to 90 F, nights around 72 to 78 F. Expect quick showers, sometimes sunny mornings with afternoon rain. This region sits outside the Caribbean hurricane belt.
