Resort Overview: Hidden Beach, Mexico
Located in Riviera Maya, Mexico, Hidden Beach Au Naturel Resort is an all-inclusive, adults-only paradise where luxury meets total freedom. Originally built in 2002 and renovated in 2012, this boutique Karisma resort offers an intimate, upscale, clothing-optional experience designed exclusively for couples seeking privacy, connection, and pure relaxation.
The property features just 43 oceanfront suites, each beautifully appointed with marble floors, jacuzzis, and terraces overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Guests can choose between swim-up suites with direct pool access or oceanfront rooms with uninterrupted sea views.
Hidden Beach is one of the few resorts in the world where you can be nude everywhere, (but not required) including at the beach, in the pool, and even in the dining and lounge areas. Every space is clothing-optional, creating a truly relaxed and inclusive atmosphere where guests can embrace total freedom. For those who prefer to stay covered, adjacent El Dorado Seaside Suites offer shared amenities while maintaining privacy for Hidden Beach guests.

Hidden Beach Au Naturel Resort features 42 oceanfront suites across two main buildings, all facing the turquoise Caribbean with direct beach access. All suites include:
King-size bed, marble bathroom with double sinks, indoor hot tub, air conditioning, ceiling fan, satellite TV, minibar (refilled daily), pillow and aromatherapy menu, robes, slippers, and nightly turndown service. Each stay includes complimentary premium liquor bottles (whisky, vodka, tequila, rum), bottle of sparkling wine on arrival, and 24-hour room service.

What entry documents do I need to enter Mexico
Required for most visitors
Valid passport book with at least one blank page, passport cards are not accepted for air travel.
Visa rules
No visa needed for many nationalities such as the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the European Union for stays up to 180 days, subject to the officer’s discretion. Travelers from other countries may need a visa or may qualify for Mexico’s electronic authorization. Check your nearest Mexican embassy or consulate.
What is the accepted form of currency?
The Mexican Peso is the legal tender in Mexico. However, most merchants will accept U.S dollars and major credit cards. Once you are at Hidden Beach, almost everything is included in the price you pay. The resort is on a cashless system. Additions will be charged to your room and processed by credit card or cash upon check out.
How do I get from the airport to the resort?
Flying into Cancún International Airport (CUN)
- Shuttle: If you book four or more nights with Castaways Travel, we’ll include complimentary airport transfers to and from the hotel. There resort is 60 miles or 1 hour and 30 minutes from the airport depending on traffic
- Rental Car: If you want to go exploring on your own since the highways are so well developed. Do so at your own risk. If you rent a car, buy insurance.
What is the weather like in Riviera Maya?
Expect tropical Caribbean climate: warm, humid, with frequent sunshine. Rain and showers are possible during certain seasons, check local forecasts for your travel dates.
What is Mexico time zone (for Riviera Maya)
The Riviera Maya (Quintana Roo) follows Eastern Time (UTC-5) without daylight-saving time changes (as of latest standard). Always verify at time of travel.
Can I drink the water in Mexico?
Hidden Beach Resort uses a filtered water system throughout the property. The resort also provides bottled water in every suite and minibar, and ice served at the bars and restaurants is made with purified water.
Although the water system meets high safety standards, it’s still recommended to drink bottled water when unsure, especially if you have a sensitive stomach or are not accustomed to local water sources.
Should I bring an electrical adapter?
Mexico uses ~110-120 V / 60 Hz (similar to U.S.) with Type A/B plugs (two flat pins). If you have devices from other countries or voltage differs, bring a converter/adapter accordingly.

Yes, single adults are allowed (age 18+ for resort, many sources say adults only). However, the resort is predominantly couples focused.

How many pools are at Hidden Beach?
Yes. Features include a beachfront main pool, a lazy river, swim-up bar, swim-up suites with direct water access.
Is the resort handicap accessible?
The property has exterior corridors and no elevators. Rooms are not handicap friendly as well. For these reasons Hidden Beach will not be held liable for any issues resulting from lack of mobility or any disability.
Is trip protection available?
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect the value of your vacation. Unforeseen events such as flight delays or cancellations, medical issues, accidents, injury, death, family emergencies, job loss, or even illness before sailing can cause you to miss or cut short your cruise. Travel protection insurance can help cover these unexpected situations.
Coverage ranges from standard cancellation and medical protection to more flexible options, including “cancel for any reason” plans. Costs vary depending on your state of residence, date of birth, and level of coverage selected.

ETIQUETTE & PROCEDURES
What exactly does ‘Clothing-Optional’ mean?
Clothing is optional throughout most of the property. Guests may choose to be nude, topless, or wear swimwear. Nudity is permitted in dining areas, pool, beach and hot tubs—but never required.
Is tipping allowed at the resort?
Tipping is included in the all-inclusive plan, but small additional gratuities are appreciated for exceptional service.
Is there an age restriction at the resort?
Yes, Hidden Beach Resort has a minimum age restriction of 18 for guests staying at the resort.
What about discrimination?
Hidden Beach does not discriminate based upon race, nationality, gender, marital status or sexual orientation.
Can guests walk nude anywhere on the resort?
Yes—within the Hidden Beach property, nudity is allowed in the beach, pool, hot tub and dining areas. However, adjacent properties (e.g., sister resort) may require clothing.
Are photographs allowed at the resort?
The safety and privacy of all the guests and staff are paramount. The following are strictly prohibited: making videos and taking photos of nightly entertainment and shows; unsolicited video and photographing – to include hidden cameras, the use of cameras and/or cell phones on the nude beach, nude pool and playrooms.
Are smart glasses or smart eyewear allowed at the resort?
No. In accordance with Hidden Beach strict no-recording policy, smart eyewear that includes cameras or has the ability to record video or take photos is strictly prohibited on resort grounds. This includes all smart glasses, regardless of whether or not you intend to use them for recording. This rule is in place to protect the privacy, comfort, and consent of all guests. Failure to comply may result in confiscation or removal from the property.
Are Public Displays of Affection (PDAs) allowed in the public area?
Affectionate behaviour is allowed, but explicit sexual behavior in public areas is restricted per resort policy.
Are there smoking and non-smoking areas in the hotel?
Smoking is allowed in designated areas only.
Are you expected to be nude at the nude beach and pool / hot tub?
Nudity is welcome throughout the resort but not required. Guests may go nude in these areas, but it’s not mandatory. Clothing or swimwear is fully acceptable.

Yes—meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) are included as part of the all-inclusive plan
What drinks are included?
At the bars, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages from domestic and international brands are included. Each suite includes a stocked bar/liquor cabinet with brands provided by the resort for typical drinks such as scotch whiskey, vodka, rum, or tequila. The selection varies. An additional charge may be applicable for premium liquors, requested spirits, or brands not already included in the resort bar menu. If in doubt, bring your own.
Are there vegan or gluten free options?
The resort offers delicious vegan and gluten-free meal options. Just let them know your dietary needs and they will do their best to accommodate them.
Is nude or topless dining allowed?
Yes—nudity is allowed in dining areas at Hidden Beach. Guests may choose to dine nude, partially clothed or in swimwear.
Does the resort offer golf?
Golf is available at a beautiful courses nearby, for an additional charge. You can also rent clubs, if you decide not to bring your own. The Hidden Beach concierge team is delighted to offer personalized assistance in setting up your tee times.
Is there a spa?
The Naay Spa is open daily. Let your stress melt away while the therapists help you rejuvenate, relax and revitalize. Choose from an extensive selection of treatments: massage, facial, manicure, pedicure and couples massage, to name a few.
Does the resort have a gift shop?
There is a well-stocked gift shop on property that carries a selection of necessities you may have forgotten, stylish wear for theme nights, and exclusive Hidden Beach logo items, catering to all your needs and desires during your stay. You’ll find a wide assortment of wonderful gifts for those special people you left behind.
Is internet service available?
Complimentary WiFi is available throughout the resort. Also, unlimited use of a high-speed PC with internet service in the lobby of Hidden Beach.
Is scuba diving available?
SCUBA clinics in the pool at El Dorado are included. SCUBA diving trips and certification are available for an additional fee.
Are water sports included?
Yes, non-motorized water sports are included as part of Hidden Beach’s all-inclusive amenities: kayaks and snorkeling. Free SCUBA clinics are available. SCUBA diving certification is available at an additional cost.
What is there to do off-site?
Akumal Bay sea turtles (15–20 min): Snorkel with wild green turtles on the Mesoamerican Reef. Go early for calm water.
Cenotes (15–30 min): Swim or snorkel in crystal-clear freshwater caverns—Dos Ojos, Yal-Ku, and Jardin del Eden are guest favorites.
Playa del Carmen (25–30 min): Stroll 5th Avenue for cafés, tequila tastings, shopping, and people-watching; big-night-out options abound.
Tulum town & beach clubs (35–40 min): Boho boutiques, beach lounges, and excellent dining.

Safes are included in every room. Safes are open upon arrival. You are able to enter your 4 digit personal code, which will be used to lock and open the safe door for the remainder of your stay. Guests with jewelry and/or cash, travel documents are advised to store all valuables in a secure place.
Can I bring my own bottle of alcohol to the resort?
You’re welcome to bring your favorite bottle with you.

Payment Terms
We offer flexible payment options; you can divide your total into multiple payments and space them out according to your preference before final delivery.
Transfer Policy
We offer a flexible transfer option. You may move your booking to another lifestyle or vanilla vacation package booked through Castaways, subject to availability and supplier rules.
One transfer per booking. Names on the booking must remain the same. Name changes follow the supplier rules and fees.
Any fare difference, taxes, and fees for the new trip are the guest’s responsibility. Promotional pricing, onboard credits, and perks may not carry over.
Requests must be submitted in writing to your travel agent or to our reservations email before the final cancellation window for your sailing. After the final window, transfers are not guaranteed and may be treated as a cancellation.
Travel insurance, air, hotel, and third party products follow the provider rules and may incur their own change fees.
