Florida, known worldwide as the Sunshine State, is one of the most popular destinations for rest, relaxation, and fun in the sun. With its miles of coastline, warm weather, and laid-back vibe, it’s easy to see why Florida attracts naturists and clothing-optional travelers year-round.
While public nudity is technically not allowed under Florida state law, there are several designated and unofficial clothing-optional beaches across the state where going nude or topless is tolerated. Whether you’re a seasoned naturist or curious first-timer, this guide highlights the best places to enjoy Florida’s beaches in the nude.
Local laws and regulations change frequently. The information below is not guaranteed. Before visiting, always check current conditions or ask locals to avoid fines or uncomfortable surprises from law enforcement or park rangers.
Public nudity is restricted throughout Florida, but there are exceptions. Haulover Beach Park in Miami-Dade County remains the state’s only official nude beach, offering a safe, welcoming environment for those who prefer to go completely bare.

Haulover Beach is Florida’s most famous and only legally recognized nude beach. Located between Bal Harbour and Sunny Isles, Haulover’s northernmost section is fully clothing-optional. The designated nude area covers about 0.4 miles of shoreline, attracting locals, tourists, and international naturists alike.
On busy days, as many as 7,000 visitors enjoy Haulover’s warm surf and welcoming atmosphere. The beach also features lifeguards, restrooms, food vendors, picnic areas, and even a “clothing-optional” volleyball court.
Beyond sunbathing nude, visitors can also enjoy fishing, kite flying, or a stroll through Haulover Park, which includes 177 acres of recreation space.
Located on Ocean Drive in the heart of Miami Beach, Lummus Park is one of South Florida’s most famous topless beaches. Going fully nude here is not permitted, but topless sunbathing is widely accepted and common among both locals and tourists.
When you’re ready for a break from the sand, explore the nearby art deco hotels, beach bars, restaurants, and nightlife that make South Beach world-renowned.
Hobe Sound Beach has long been a favorite for those seeking a more private, naturist-friendly experience. Though nudity is not technically legal, it’s often tolerated in secluded spots. The area’s exclusivity and surrounding luxury homes make it popular among seasoned nudists seeking discretion and peace.
Located near Daytona, Apollo Beach is known for its relaxed attitude toward naturists. While not officially designated for nudity, Volusia County locals tend to be more tolerant, and many beachgoers enjoy topless or nude sunbathing in certain areas.
Always respect boundaries, bring a towel to sit on, and be ready to cover up if requested by park rangers.
Accessible only by boat, St. Lucie Inlet Preserve offers an untouched, natural experience for visitors seeking a remote clothing-optional getaway. Its isolation attracts a mix of boaters, naturists, and eco-tourists who appreciate the area’s quiet, unspoiled charm.
Located along the Cape Canaveral National Seashore, Playalinda Beach is famous for being one of the most scenic and discreet beaches where nudity is tolerated, especially near parking lot 13.
While not officially sanctioned, naturists frequently visit for its peaceful vibe, natural setting, and minimal crowds. Always bring a cover-up in case enforcement varies by day or season.
Located just north of Tampa, Caliente Club & Resort is a luxury, adults-only destination where nudity is not just accepted but celebrated. The resort offers pools, hot tubs, dining, bars, events, and a lively social atmosphere in a private, gated community.
Nearby, Paradise Lakes Resort (just five miles south) also welcomes nudists with similar amenities, making Land O’ Lakes the unofficial naturist capital of Florida.

Turning Bucket Lists Into Boarding Passes
For more than 15 years, I’ve been helping travelers turn dream vacations into unforgettable memories. From hosting adults only cruises and group trips to exploring six of the world’s seven continents, I’ve experienced many of the destinations I recommend firsthand. Antarctica is the only one still on my bucket list.
When I’m not planning incredible getaways, you’ll usually find me enjoying South Florida with my family, scuba diving, exploring new places, or dreaming about the next adventure. My husband and I were even married underwater, so it’s safe to say travel and the ocean are a big part of who I am. My favorite part of this job is helping clients experience those unforgettable wow moments that become memories for a lifetime.

Your Vacation Matchmaker
One Bliss Cruise changed everything.
I’ve been cruising my entire life, but one Bliss Cruise introduced me to an incredible community that completely changed my trajectory. Now, I love helping others discover that same unforgettable experience.
You’ll usually find me on the dance floor. I’m a social butterfly at heart and have earned the reputation as the unofficial matchmaker, bringing couples together, turning strangers into lifelong friends, and helping everyone feel like they belong.
I can’t wait to help you find your perfect getaway and welcome you into the amazing community that made me feel at home from day one.

Your Story Starts Here
I’ve spent more than 15 years helping trade everyday stress for sunshine, ocean views, and unforgettable memories. I’m the person who obsesses over the little details so you don’t have to. Finding the perfect room, the perfect resort, or that hidden gem that makes you say, “How did you know about this?” is my favorite part of the job.
Lifestyle travel has a special place in my heart because it’s about so much more than the destination. It’s about relaxing, reconnecting, making new friends, and being completely yourself. My husband and I love exploring these cruises and resorts together, so when I make a recommendation, it’s based on firsthand experience.
Whether you’re planning your very first lifestyle vacation or you’re already part of the community, I’ll make sure every detail is handled with care, discretion, and lots of excitement for the adventure ahead.

Helping you find your happy place
I’ve been turning vacation dreams into reality since right after high school, took a brief detour while life happened, and happily found my way back to the travel industry in 2014. After helping travelers from our Texas office, I traded cowboy boots for flip flops and returned to Florida to be closer to family. These days, nothing makes me happier than helping people discover the kind of vacation they’ll still be talking about long after they unpack.
The overwater bungalows at Palafitos at Maroma Beach will always have my heart, while Couples Sans Souci in Ocho Rios is one of my favorite places to completely unwind. Having personally experienced many of the resorts we offer, I can help you understand the little differences that don’t always show up in a brochure but can make all the difference in your vacation.
When I’m not planning incredible getaways, you’ll probably find me clipping into a Peloton ride, taking Molly, my spirited Jack Russell, for a walk, spending time with my grandbabies, or enjoying a relaxing day at the beach. Those simple moments remind me exactly why vacations matter so much. They give us time to reconnect, recharge, and make memories with the people we love.
I can’t wait to help you find your next favorite destination.

The calm behind the storm
Every great vacation needs someone behind the scenes making sure all the pieces come together, and that’s where I come in! As Castaways Travel’s Chief Chaos Coordinator, I keep the wheels turning so our travelers can focus on making memories. Whether it’s organizing group details, solving last minute challenges, or keeping our Pleasure Planners on track, I thrive on turning organized chaos into unforgettable vacations.
I found my passion for travel in 2019 after spending decades in specialty and luxury retail, and I’ve never looked back. My favorite part of what I do is helping create experiences where people can truly relax, reconnect, and be themselves, whether that’s on a lifestyle cruise, at an adults only resort, or somewhere completely off the beaten path.
When I’m not keeping the Castaways crew sailing smoothly, you’ll probably find me cheering on my son at a baseball tournament, visiting my Aggie at Texas A&M, or dreaming up the next adventure. After all, behind every unforgettable vacation is just a little organized chaos, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

If it floats, chances are I’ve been on it.
I’ve spent more than 30 years helping people find their happy place, and if it floats, chances are I’ve been on it. As the second-generation owner of Castaways Travel, I grew up in this business and couldn’t imagine doing anything else.
Desire and Bliss Cruises will always have a special place in my heart because they bring together amazing people, unforgettable experiences, and friendships that last long after the cruise is over.
When I’m not planning clothing optional vacations, I’m probably giving belly rubs to Lilly, my four-legged first mate, dreaming about my next cruise, or convincing someone that “just one more vacation” is always the best idea.
My favorite part of this job is watching people step away from everyday life, reconnect with each other, and discover a community where they can truly be themselves. Nothing makes me happier than welcoming clients back year after year because, once you’re part of the Castaways family, you’re family for life.
