C and P's November 2014 Grand Lido Negril Trip Report

We first visited Grand Lido in 1992 and loved it. As we were boarding the bus bound for MoBay and the airport, we were very sad thinking this wonderful vacation could never be duplicated. I was wrong, but this was our first Jamaican vacation. Two years ago after the change in ownership of Grand Lido, we again had occasion to stay there. During that stay we observed several changes being made to the reception area and heard talk of other changes coming.

This most recent visit to Grand Lido started November 9, 2014 and ended November 14, 2014. Our first impression was that the place was being well maintained. The grass was well manicured, the sidewalks and flower beds were crisply edged and the painted areas seemed fresh and clean. The walkways were swept and clear of debris. The hallways were clean. The rooms were clean and appeared to be well maintained. We were on the side of the resort near the nude pool and beach. The nude pool area was busy, noisy and playful—much more so than it was when we stayed on either of the other two visits. The nude side of the resort appeared to be fully booked—all of the first floor rooms had people sitting on their patios in the morning sipping coffee and enjoying pastries that they got from the nude pool grill.

We did not dine at Grand Lido on this stay. On two nights, we did listen to and enjoy the entertainment in the main dining area stage. The band and singer were very good. The drinks at the bar were well made and tasty.

In my opinion, Grand Lido would be a very relaxing vacation. Grand Lido would be a wonderful place to ease into a nudist vacation.
