If you don't like yourself enough to show your body, why would anyone else? You can still enjoy the benefits of nudity without having to strip down completely. For example, you could wear a swimsuit while sunbathing or a sports bra while playing volleyball.

A woman wrote that she had been on several cruises and had never seen anyone else nude. She added that it wasn't her thing.

Another reader told us he had been on a cruise ship once and saw someone sitting alone in a lounge wearing nothing but his underwear. He said he didn't think much of it because everyone was dressed casually.

And another person said he had been on a couple of cruises and had seen many people dining nude. He said there was no problem with it, especially since most passengers weren't even aware that it happened.

We also heard from a man who said he had been on one cruise where the entire crew was nude. He said it was very relaxing and fun.

One woman said she had been on a cruise where the entire staff was nude. She said it was great because you could see everything without being distracted by clothing.

Most cruise ship guests don't realize it, but clothing is required on most cruises. While some cruise lines allow you to go nude in the fitness center or spa, others require you to wear something while lounging around the pool or relaxing in the hot tub. In actual practice, most all sailings billed as a nude cruise don't feature nudity 100% of the time. Typically, for hygiene purposes, health and safety, dining inside the ship and other similar activities usually require passengers to wear clothes or some type of coverup.   Of course, while in port and on shore excursions clothing is required when in a public setting.

Most nude cruise charter operators and travel companies sponsoring a nude cruise offer nude catamarans during certain ports of call or nude excursions to a secluded nude beach or deserted island with nice beaches nearby.

Often companies that sponsor nude cruise charters bring professional instructors or speakers on board for enrichment, learning, dance lessons, mixology, or cooking classes. One of the most popular sports is water volleyball where men and women both participate.  The games are often invariably hilarious.

Yes, we heartily endorse and support it  -  Sex does happen….on regular cruises and nude cruises as well. It's natural and enjoyable adult behavior.  However, the ship's officers, staff and crew are off limits. They may lose their job or be banned from the industry.

But with one with one stipulation :  On any sponsored nude cruise or clothing-optional cruise, PUBLIC sex with anyone anywhere anytime on board is 100% forbidden.

In fact, most every cruise line and nude cruise charter sponsor has Rules of Behavior clearly forbidding and prohibiting sexual misbehavior in a public setting.  Typical cruise Terms and Conditions may also include a waiver each passenger must sign declaring they will abide by the rules and spelling out the consequences.

If the ship's security and/or host staff encounter chronic disregard for these rules, passengers may be removed and escorted off the ship at the next port of call without refund or transportation home.
