 N Resort Jamaica's New Naturist
Resort Oyster Bay, Jamaica |
The N Resort
at Oyster Bay, Jamaica is primarily a nudist resort for adults only. The resort
welcomes guests as couples and single ladies only. Nudity is not compulsory so
you may describe it as clothing optional.
The resort is not fancy
its modest in design but does include all the features of a larger, all
inclusive property, surprising for a small resort.
Frank Rance, the
owner and Freddie DePass, General Manager of N Resort, both emphasize their
resort is not Hedonism
its suited for small groups and fun loving
adults who enjoy tropical ambiance in a clothes-free
environment.

The N Resort at Oyster Bay,
Jamaica is primarily a nudist resort for adults and is all inclusive in format.
This means room, meals, bar drinks, taxes and airport transfers are included in
your room rate. The resort welcomes guests as couples and single ladies only.
The property at one time was called Pebbles. After a refurbishment, the
resort's opening day of November 19, 2010 ushers in an era for the resort
catering primarily to adult nudists although clothing optional clients are
welcome as well. The dining areas and reception are the two locations on the
property where clothing or a cover up is required.
Compared to most
resorts on the island, it's a bit smaller than most resort layouts with only 96
rooms, most of them Ocean view.
In addition, its compact
area on about 3 acres literally hugs the beach composed of beautiful white sand
that serves as a perfect entrance to the beach water. You dont need aqua
shoes to enjoy swimming at the beach. And, snorkeling is a step away from the
beach with sand bars and reefs accessible from the shore.
What sets the
resort apart from other small hotels is the construction. All guest rooms are
built with native Jamaican wood with authentic decorations and appointments
including a nice porch for that early morning coffee or late afternoon drink as
you watch the sunset.
The resort used to be called, Pebbles, a family
resort, and was built in the mid 90s.

Passports are required for international air travel,
including Jamaica.
Fly into Montego Bay's Sangster Airport, hop on a
shuttle bus and you'll be at the resort, usually taking between 30-40,
depending upon traffic. Your trip is a scenic drive along the coast road to
Runaway Bay and Ocho Rios, although you won't travel that far.
Air
service is provided by both scheduled air carriers and charter airlines
worldwide to Montego Bay. Typically, charters are a good value, but the flights
usually operate once or twice a week from the USA and Europe. If you want
convenience, scheduled airlines offer the most flights, most often, to the
island. The trade off for you is price vs. convenience. The choice is
yours.
There is no commuter airport nearby, so a short bus ride is your
primary option, included automatically in your resort accommodations' package.
The bus may stop for a passengers' beer or pee break, depending upon the whim
of the bus driver or guests. The coastal road eastward from Montego Bay takes
you through the areas of Falmouth and Trelawny where you may pass roadside
stands selling sea grapes, excellent wood carvings and, of course, Red Strip
beer and jerk chicken, the island's specialty.
A little useless trivia:
A movie classic filmed years ago called "Papillon" about a Devils' Island
(French penal colony) starring Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman was filmed in
the old warehouse complex in Falmouth, which also boasts the second oldest
church on the island. Nearby Duncans is the boyhood home of Harry Belafonte, a
Jamaican calypso singer popular in the 50s and 60s in Jamaica and the USA
before reggae became established in the 1970's. In addition, several James Bond
classic movies were filmed near there, including Goldfinger.
Some more
interesting recent trivia: The 2008 Olympic world record holder for the 100
yard dash, Usain Bolt, was born and raised near Trelawny, not far from the N
Resort.
The resort is just east of Breezes Trelawny family resort and
not far from the new seaport at Trelawny where Royal Caribbean docks its cruise
liners on the north shore of Jamaica.

Adult couples and single adult women are welcome as guests
at the resort.
Frank Rance, the owner and Freddie DePass, General
Manager of N Resort, both emphasize their resort is not Hedonism. Its
suited for small groups and fun loving adults who enjoy tropical ambiance.
A bit if interesting trivia: Frank Rance was the first General Manager
of Negril Beach Village back in the late 70s. Freddie was his first
assistant manager of the resort which later converted to... Hedonism # 2 in the
early 80s when SuperClubs assumed control and management of the property
in Negril.

for a meal and drink, a tour of Dunn's River Falls near Ocho Rios for a great,
wet climb up a waterfall (do it once at least), a rafting trip down one of the
many scenic Jamaican rivers, sunset cruises, a chance to swim with dolphins at
Dolphin Cove, horseback riding, and deep sea fishing as well as trips to other
villages such as Falmouth, Negril or Port Antonio. These trips can be arranged
at the Tour Desk at the resort.
Private drivers can also be hired right
at the resort for a do-it-yourself tour if you wish. Rental cars can be
arranged at the resort but don't expect any deals since both vehicles and
gasoline are no bargain in Jamaica.
For riding enthusiasts, the Braco
stables are located 10-15 due east of the resort near Breezes Rio
Bueno.
Golfers can scratch their itch at a number of courses located in
the Montego Bay area, including Ironshore, White Witch and Rose Hall.

Jamaica is a year-round travel destination with the fall
season seeing weather that can be less stable than other times of the year.
Since you're in the tropics, expect a downpour at some time while you're there,
although it's rare for rains to last days on end. The weather usually blows in
and blows out pretty quickly.
